Shaw Job Fair, 06/25/05

A job fair for residents of the greater Shaw area will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2005, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Scripture Cathedral, 810 O Street, NW. The fair is being sponsored by the DC Department of Employment Services in conjunction with Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2C.
Types of positions available will include:
*Cashiers
*Grill Cooks
*Counter Workers
*Sales Clerks
*Food Service Workers
and many others.
Job applicants should bring two forms of identification, such as a Social Security Card, a Valid Driver's License, or other government issued photo identification, and be dressed for a professional interview. Background checks will be conducted following a successful interview.
To help candidates prepare for the job fair, the Organization for Training Others in Need (OFT/ON) will conduct a free Resume Development workshop on Monday, June 13, 2005, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and a free Interviewing Preparation workshop on Thursday, June 16, 2005, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. These classes will be held at United Planning Organization Neighborhood Development Center No. 1, 1726 7th Street, NW. To register for either or both workshops, call 202-462-6401.
