Most tablets have 12 inch screens unless otherwise noted.
Battery life averages 3.5 - 4 hours.
Go to www.tabletpc.com for official info from Microsoft.
You can also google “Tablet pc comparison table” to get a matrix that compares them to each other.
Can I also ask you a favor?...
I am also speaking to marketing persons at Microsoft about how to best advertise the tablet.
What do you think would have made you pick one up earlier, before meeting me?
- For example, a commercial on TV?
- Seeing them advertised and on display at Best Buy? (incidentally – they currently have the Toshiba)
- Going to a demonstration on campus?
- Learning about them one though a department purchasing program at Shands?
- etc.
- How would it showcase the software and computers? Personal stories of how it has helped people in different situations? Demonstrations of the hardware? Both? Other?
I would appreciate any thoughts you would like to share with us. It means a lot to us.

Subject: RE: Seeking an avenue to create a purchasing program with govconnection and University of Florida
Good Morning Mr. Kertesz, GovConnection has worked with Marc Hoit in the College of Engineering for several years to offer IBM equipment to Gator Engineering students. We would be happy to incorporate a tablet option as well. We have been able to offer a significant discount off of retail on the IBM laptops and am confident we could incorporate that same pricing methodology to a tablet program. Please see the following link:

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.
Thank You.

Hello. I am a graduate student in the Engineering department at the University of Florida
As of yet, Tablet PCs are not well known to either the student body, nor to faculty.
I have spoken to Acer direct and with Acer resellers, but find that little can be done to set up low cost educational purchasing contracts for Tablets.
That said, after referring to IT-cohorts at my alma mater (Seattle University), I would like to know if:
- There is the possibility of setting up a P.O. or other purchasing program with the University of Florida or rather a department therein.
- A discount can be offered to students as compared to retail (due to the large premium placed on tablets)
Thank You
Ruben Kertesz
